Causeway Coast and Glens

Welcome to the Causeway Coast and Glens Branch of the North of Ireland Family History Society

Causeway Branch welcomes members from all over the world but will be of particular interest to those with families who originated in our local catchment area in the north of Counties Antrim and Derry/Londonderry, as outlined in orange on the map.

If you have any questions about joining our Branch or would like to join one of our monthly meetings, please email the Branch using the button on the right.

Monthly Meetings

Members’ meetings are usually held at 8.00pm on the last Tuesday of each month, September to June, excluding December.

The meetings are an opportunity to hear Branch news and for a talk by a guest speaker relating to a subject of genealogical or local historical interest.

The November meeting is normally a member’s workshop, specialising on giving one to one advice on personal family research.

Members can attend in person or by Zoom, save for the November meeting which by its nature does not lend itself to Zoom.

Branch members will receive a Zoom link a few weeks before each meeting.

Talks will be recorded and made available for a limited time to Branch members on request.

Dedicated website

Members have free access to the Branch website which contains around 130,000 local records of baptisms, births, marriages, deaths gravestone transcriptions, photographs, newsletters and other genealogical sources. Many of these records are not available on-line anywhere else.

The Branch does not undertake detailed research but can offer guidance on where records may be found and other steps to progress personal research.

Where

Meetings are held in the ground floor hall at the Sandel Centre, 6 Knocklynn Rd, Coleraine, BT52 1WT.
